The Strategic Response Team (SRT) reports the arrest of a Hempstead man during a “Project 21” initiative targeting the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors. The initiative was conducted on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 8:20 pm in Wantagh.
According to Police, officers with the assistance of underage agents, conducted an investigation at Smoke Bazaar located at 3010 Merrick Road. During the investigation, officers observed a large quantity of flavored vape products displayed for sale.
As a result of the investigation, Defendant Tamer Ghazali, 23, of 90 Catherdal Avenue was placed under arrest without incident. He is charged with Sale of Restricted Products, two counts of Age Restricted Products and Sale of Flavored Products Prohibited. He was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court on Friday, August 28, 2026.
