The Public Information Office reports on a Bomb Threat that occurred on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Hicksville.

According to Police, an individual made a statement that was interpreted as a potential threat while at the Hicksville Public Library, located at 169 Jerusalem Avenue. The library was evacuated and nearby schools were placed on a lockout out of an abundance of precaution. The Arson/Bomb Squad responded and it was determined that there was no threat. The individual who made the statement was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
