The First Squad reports the arrest of two Baldwin individuals for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 11:50 PM in Baldwin.

According to detectives, officers responded to a Baldwin residence for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect was involved in a verbal argument with a 25-year-old male outside the home. The argument escalated and the suspect pushed through the victim’s front door. The suspect brandished a firearm and proceeded to discharge the weapon once inside the residence, grazing a 28-year-old females’ leg and subsequently striking and damaging a kitchen stove. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle being operated by a female. The female victim was transported to a local area hospital where she is in stable condition.

After a thorough investigation, with the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Department, the vehicle and occupants were located in the confines of Suffolk County. Defendants Alfredo Gonzalez, 43, and Donna Perez, 47, were placed under arrest without incident.

Defendant Gonzalez is charged with Criminal Use of a Firearm 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Attempted Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Defendant Perez is charged with Hindering Prosecution 2nd Degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
