The Homicide squad reports on a Fatal House Fire that occurred on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 4:31 a.m. in Bellmore.
According to Detectives, Officers were dispatched to a residential fire on Chapman Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers observed the house fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to multiple neighboring homes causing damage. The Bellmore Fire Department and several neighboring fire departments responded and extinguished the flames. Two Officers were transported to a local area hospital for smoke inhalation. A 69-year-old female victim was transported to a local area hospital where she is listed in critical condition. A 72-year-old male victim was discovered inside the residence and pronounced at scene. The Homicide Squad, Arson Bomb Squad and Nassau County Fire Marshal responded to scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
