The Public Information Office reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 6:37 pm in West Hempstead.
According to police, officers responded to a 911 call for a house fire. Upon arrival, all occupants had evacuated. Lakeview Fire Department and surrounding departments responded to extinguish the fire.
A male resident, 55, suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Nassau County Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives and Nassau County Fire Marshals responded to the scene.
Red Cross was notified to assist with displaced residents.
The investigation is ongoing.
