The First Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt female for an Assault that   occurred on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at 12:14 pm in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, Defendant Marie-Lucie Auguste, 48, was involved in a verbal argument with a female victim, 47. The argument escalated and the defendant punched the victim in the face, shoved her to the ground before brandishing a knife and stabbing the victim in the arm, causing a laceration. The victim in fear for her life called 911. Upon police arrival, officers located both the victim and the defendant and placed the defendant Auguste under arrest without further incident. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. The defendant was also transported to a local area hospital for evaluation. 

Defendant Marie-Lucie Auguste is charged with Assault 2^nd Degree, Assault 3^rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree and Menacing 2^nd Degree. She will be arraigned on Monday, April, 6, 2026 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
