The Third Squad reports the arrest of a New Hyde Park man for an Assault that occurred on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10:00 am in New Hyde Park.
According to detectives, officers responded to Long Island Jewish Medical Center for a female victim that had been previously involved in a domestic disturbance. Upon police arrival, officers were informed that the female victim, 65, was involved in a verbal argument with the defendant, Christian Burgos, 35, the argument escalated and the defendant grabbed the victim by her hair, threw her to the ground causing the victim to sustain injuries to her neck, back and arms.
On Sunday, November 23, 2025, officers located the defendant Christian Burgos and attempted to place him into custody. Burgos became violent and combative refusing to comply with verbal commands causing three officers to sustain injuries during the course of the arrest. The officers were all transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Subsequent to the investigation, the defendant was found to be in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be Ketamine.
Defendant Christian Burgos is charged with four (4) counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Monday, November 24, 2025, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
