The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a fire that occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 9:26 a.m. in North Hills.

According to detectives, sixth precinct officers responded to a Hornbill drive residence for a fire. Upon arrival, officers observed flames coming from the front door and with the assistance of the Manhasset Fire Department were able to remove a resident through a window to safety. The Manhasset Fire Department along with several neighboring fire departments were able to extinguish the fire. The resident and one officer were transported to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. The Nassau County Fire Marshall and the Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
