The First Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man for an incident that occurred on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 3:50 PM in Baldwin.

According to detectives, officers responded to a disturbance at a Baldwin residence. Upon arrival it, was determined that Defendant Sanjay Sean Singh, 38, of 963 Lydia Place was arguing with a 63 year old male victim. The argument escalated and the defendant stabbed the victim in the back with a knife, slashed his face and left the scene. The defendant was located nearby and placed under arrest without incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The defendant was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Defendant Sanjay Sean Singh is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He was arraigned on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
