The Electronic Squad/ Fraud and Forgery Section report the arrest of a Baldwin woman for multiple Grand Larcenies that occurred between December 2025 to July 2026 throughout Nassau County.

According to detectives, defendant Aurelia Soogea, 39, of 735 Wesley Street executed a deed-theft by targeting the residential property of a 75-year-old male victim. The investigation revealed defendant Soogea did fraudulently transfer the deed of the victim’s home located on Maple Street in West Hempstead to her own name by forging various documentations.

After an extensive investigation, defendant Soogea was located and placed under arrested without incident. Defendant Soogea was also found to be in possession of numerous pills believed to Oxycodone. There were no injuries reported.

During the investigation it was discovered that defendant Soogea was renting out multiple residential properties that she does not own to families throughout Nassau County between July 8, 2026 to July 28, 2026.

Defendant Soogea is charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree, Scheme to Defraud 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. She will be arraigned on Friday, July 31, 2026 at First District Court, Hempstead.
