The Second Squad reports the arrest of an East Norwich man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 10:20 pm in East Norwich.

According to Detectives, officers responded to a Mill River Road residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers were informed that a verbal argument occurred between the Defendant Carmine Gotti Agnello, 40, of 417 Mill River Road and a female victim, 29. The argument escalated into a physical altercation resulting in the defendant slapping and punching the victim multiple times before forcibly grabbing her around the neck and applying pressure making it difficult for her to breathe. The defendant then smashed the victim’s cellphone on the ground causing it to break. The victim immediately left scene and contacted police. On Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 8:00 pm the defendant was located and placed under arrest without incident.

Defendant Carmine Gotti Agnello is charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. He will be arraigned on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
