The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a bicyclist that occurred on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 9:55 pm in Elmont.
According to detectives, a 53-year-old male bicyclist was traveling near the intersection of Plainfield Avenue and Elmont Road when he was struck by a 2006 Honda Civic being operated by a 30-year-old male traveling southbound on Plainfield Avenue. The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
