The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of two males for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 3:26 pm in Valley Stream. 

According to Detectives, Defendant Jahkeli Mason, 19, of 147-34 224^th Street, Springfield Gardens and Defendant Darren Gordon, 36, of 118-06 Brinkerhoff Avenue, St. Albans entered Target located at 500 W. Sunrise Highway and selected assorted merchandise, placed it in a shopping cart and then proceeded to pass all points of purchase and exiting the store without rendering payment. Loss Prevention officers confronted the defendants who then threatened and shoved the employee before fleeing scene. A short time later, the defendants were located and after a brief foot pursuit they were placed under arrest without incident.  No injuries were reported.

Defendant Jahkeli Mason is charged with Robbery 2^nd Degree and Grand Larceny 4^th Degree. Defendant Darren Gordon is charged with Robbery 2^nd Degree and Grand Larceny 4^th Degree. They will be arraigned on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
