The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Freeport man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 8:45 PM in Uniondale.
According to Police, Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) Officers were conducting an investigation on Jerusalem Avenue in the vicinity of Bira Street. During the course of the investigation, Defendant Selvin Omar Ventura Velasquez, 27, was found to be in possession of fraudulent United States currency. He was placed under arrest without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined the defendant is in the United States illegally and is subject to removal proceedings.
Defendant Selvin Omar Ventura Velasquez is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd Degree. He was released on an Appearance Ticket and taken into custody by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
