The Electronic Squad / Fraud and Forgery Section report the arrest of a Brooklyn man for an Elder Scam/Attempted Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 10:30 am in Baldwin.
According to detectives, a 68-year-old male victim received a message on his computer informing him it had been compromised. The victim then called the phone number that was displayed on the screen and was informed that he needed to withdraw his funds from the bank to safeguard his money. The victim complied and immediately responded to the bank and withdrew a total of $20,000 USC. After withdrawing the funds, the victim suspected he was being scammed and contacted police. Subsequent to the investigation, the Defendant Biaodi Jiang, 50, of 728 47th Street was located and placed under arrest without incident.p

Defendant Biaodi Jiang is charged with Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
