The Homicide Squad is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 7:34 pm in Hicksville.
According to detectives, a male pedestrian was struck by a 2021 Toyota Rav 4 traveling southbound on Jerusalem Avenue, while he was attempting to cross Jerusalem Avenue in the vicinity of Gem Court. The male pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was pronounced by a medic at the scene.
The female operator of the vehicle, 32, remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.

The above victim has been identified as Orlando Yanes, 45 of Hicksville.
