Second Squad Detectives report the arrests of two (2) juveniles for Criminal Mischief that occurred on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 3:52 pm in Bayville.
According to detectives, a male victim, 38, observed two (2) male juveniles throwing garbage on the ground in the parking lot of Stehli Beach located at 10 Bayville Road. The victim was sitting in his 2009 Ford F250 and questioned the males’ conduct. They disrespectfully responded and the victim decided to leave. As he was exiting the parking lot, the subjects entered a 2021 Mercedes-Benz and accelerated past the victim’s driver’s side door before cutting him off at the park entrance. The 17-year-old male exited the driver’s seat and retrieved a lacrosse stick from the trunk. The 16-year-old male exited the rear driver’s side and retrieved a white metal bat from the trunk. Both subjects struck the front of the Ford multiple times. The victim put his vehicle in reverse to back away and the subjects continued to run at him. The victim exited the entrance of the park when the subject with the lacrosse stick struck the passenger side multiple times causing additional damage.
A short time later, the same subjects, in the same vehicle, cut off a female, 25, traveling eastbound in the vicinity of Mountain Avenue, before abruptly hitting their brakes. A male exited the rear driver’s side, approached her vehicle and the victim drove around the Mercedes-Benz. As she passed the subject he struck her Jeep’s rear passenger side window, causing no damage.
A thorough investigation was conducted and the two (2) juveniles were arrested. They are charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Menacing 3rd Degree. They will be arraigned at First District Court, Youth Part, Hempstead.
