The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Great Neck Plaza woman for an incident that occurred on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 6:00 pm in Westbury.

According to officers, a 911 called was generated by a witness who observed a male juvenile left unattended inside a parked vehicle in the parking lot of 1240 Old Country Road. Upon police arrival, officers observed an 8-year-old male juvenile inside the vehicle with the windows partially opened. Responding officers gained access to the vehicle and safely removed the child.

Subsequent to the investigation, officers determined Defendant Ming Zhang, 46, of 8 Walnut Place was responsible for leaving the child unattended inside the vehicle and was placed under arrest without incident. The child was placed into the custody of a family member.

Defendant Ming Zhang is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and will be arraigned on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Nassau County Court, 262 Old Country Road, Mineola.
