The Sixth Squad reports an incident that occurred on Saturday, September 7, 2026 at 10:44 PM in Manorhaven.
According to detectives, officers responded for a report of sick animals at 144 Shore Road, a commercial address used as a business for boarding dogs. When officers were able to access inside the building, they located a total of 21 dogs from the location that were in various stages of neglect. Town of North Hempstead Animal Control responded to the scene and removed all the dogs from the premises. The Nassau County SPCA and the Sixth Squad responded to scene. The investigation is ongoing.
