The Public Information Office reports the details of an auto accident into a dwelling that occurred in Woodmere on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1:48 a.m.
According to Police an 18-year-old male driver was operating a 2022 Kia when he lost control at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and East Broadway and struck a home located at 980 East Broadway. The home was occupied by four family members who did not report any injuries. The Town of Hempstead deemed the residence unlivable after the collision. The operator of the Kia was evaluated at scene by a Nassau County Medic for minor injuries. Woodmere Fire Department and multiple other local departments responded to the scene, in addition to NCPD Emergency Service Unit and PSE&G. No criminality is suspected at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
