The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Inwood man for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 2:45 am in North Lawrence.

According to Detectives, Defendant Edwin Alvarado, 32, of 66 Church Street approached a 25-year-old male, brandishing a knife and demanding his wallet and cell phone near the intersection of Rockaway Turnpike and Pearsall Avenue. After a brief struggle, the defendant fled scene in an unknown direction with the victim’s cell phone. After a thorough investigation the defendant was located and placed into custody. No injuries were reported.

Defendant Edwin Alvarado is charged with Robbery 1st Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
