The Public Information Office reports the details of a Water Emergency that occurred on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 7:00 PM in Sands Point.
According to Police, Nassau County Marine Bureau responded to a report of a 62-foot vessel with eight passengers on board in the vicinity of Success Rock that was taking on water. The Town of North Hempstead Bay Constables, US Coast Guard, Rye Police Department Marine Bureau and the FDNY Marine Bureau all responded to assist at scene. All passengers were safely brought back to shore by Nassau County Marine 3. No injuries were reported. TowBoat US responded to tow the vessel.
