The Homicide Squad reports the details of a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Hempstead.
According to Police, officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:21 am at 16 Angevine Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals that sustained life threatening gunshot wounds in a residence. The victims were pronounced at scene.
Detectives have deemed there is no additional threat to the public.
The investigation is on-going.

The subject of the homicide investigation has been identified as Garfield Adamson, 50, of Hempstead. The victim, brother of the shooter, has been identified as David Adamson, 52, of Hempstead. After Garfield Adamson shot the victim, he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
