The Second Squad reports the arrest of three males for an incident that occurred on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 3:58 pm in Jericho.

According to Detectives, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) officers, while on routine patrol, observed three unknown males exit their vehicles in the parking lot of 86 Jericho Turnpike. The males then opened a large wooden crate and transferred numerous rifles into their vehicles. Officers conducted an investigation and the Defendant Gilberto Rivera Lopez, 45, of 231 Hopper Street, New Cassel, Defendant Rudi W. Rivera Lopez, 30, of 13 Tamarack Street, Central Islip and Defendant Manuel Gutierrez Pineda, 33, of 275 Sheridan Street, New Cassel were all placed under arrest without incident. Further investigation revealed the defendants were in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, a forged Social Security card, several knives, three machetes and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Defendant Gilberto Rivera Lopez is charged with six (6) counts of Failure to Safely Store Firearms 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Loitering 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.

Defendant Rudi W. Rivera Lopez is charged with four (4) counts of Failure to Safely Store Firearms 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Loitering 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.

Defendant Manuel Gutierrez Pineda is charged with four (4) counts of Failure to Safely Store Firearms 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Loitering

1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.

Defendant Rudi W. Rivera Lopez and Defendant Gilberto Rivera Lopez were arraigned on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at First District Court. Defendant Manuel Gutierrez Pineda was released on an Appearance ticket. Further investigation revealed the defendant is illegally in the United States and is subject to removal proceedings. US Immigration Customs Enforcement Agents (ICE) took custody of the defendant
