Sixth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Great Neck man for an Assault that occurred on Monday, September 7, 2026 at 4:15 pm in Great Neck.
According to detectives, police responded to a 911 call for a female, 76, on the ground and in need of an ambulance, after being pushed by a male subject. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the female victim and the male subject were involved in a verbal argument about the male’s dog running onto her lawn. The argument escalated and Michael Kane, 47, of 50 Colgate Road, pushed the victim to the ground resulting in her suffering substantial pain to the whole left side of her body, with severe pain in her left hip, arm and leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. Kane was arrested without incident. No further injuries were reported.
Defendant Michael Kane is charged with Assault 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at First District Court, Hempstead.
