The Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of a Bethpage man on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 6:30 AM for Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors.
According to Detectives, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 defendant Steven Klauer, 26, of 10 Adams Avenue, responded to the Nassau County Probation Office, located at 400 County Seat Drive, Mineola, as required for being registered as a level 1 sex offender. During the visit, Probation Officers recovered a phone belonging to the defendant that was believed to be used for sexual purposes. An extensive and thorough investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that resulted in defendant Steven Klauer being arrested on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at his residence without incident.
Defendant Steven Klauer is charged with four counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors 1st degree, six counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors 2nd degree, four counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child less than 17 years of age and four counts of Possessing Sexual Performance by a Child less than 16 years of age. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
