The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for an incident that occurred on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 4:51 PM in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, officers responded to Macys located at 1000 Green Acres Mall for a larceny in progress. Subsequent to an investigation, the Defendant Malik Thorpe, 19, of 11708 202nd Street was arrested without incident. The defendant was additionally found to be in possession of a firearm.
Defendant Malik Thorpe is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
