The Strategic Response Team (SRT) reports the arrest of a Georgia female for an incident that occurred on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 7:10 pm in Jericho.

According to Police, officers while conducting a Vehicle and Traffic Law investigation on Jericho Turnpike observed the Defendant Madeleine Fisette, 21, of 603 Owl Creek Drive, Powder Springs exit her vehicle onto the shoulder of Jericho Turnpike. The defendant then began yelling and screaming at officers while impeding the flow of traffic. After numerous verbal commands to exit the roadway were ignored, officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest. During the course of the arrest, the defendant became violent and combative causing an officer to sustain injuries. The injured officer was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The defendant was also transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Defendant Madeleine Fisette is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. She will be arraigned on Friday, June 31, 2026 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead
