The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of an East Meadow man for Aggravated Vehicular Assault involving a bicyclist that occurred on Friday, September 18, 2026, 2026 at 10:11 PM in Inwood.
According to Detectives, a 31-year-old male victim was stationary on his bicycle in the vicinity of Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue. He was struck by a 2018 Subaru traveling eastbound on Burnside Avenue. The vehicle remained at the scene and Michael Mayosky, 51, of 1515 Prospect Avenue was arrested without incident.
The victim was transported to an area hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
The vehicle was impounded for a brake and safety check.
Defendant Mayosky is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, two (2) counts of Vehicular Assault 1st Degree, Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, three (3) counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Reckless Driving. He will be arraigned on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at First District Court, Hempstead.

Defendant Michael Mayosky will be arraigned on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
