The Major Case Squad reports the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for a Robbery that occurred on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 9:13 am in North Lawrence.
According to detectives, an unknown male entered AutoZone located at 711 Burnside Avenue carrying a cardboard box. The subject approached a female employee, 34, and two (2) male employees, 69 and 40, displaying a handgun. The subject demanded cash from the registers and directed them to place it in the box. The employees complied and the male fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of US currency.
During the investigation it was determined the same subject was responsible for a Robbery that occurred on 1/15/2026 in Freeport at DCAP Insurance located at 17 West Sunrise Highway. The subject displayed a handgun while making demands. The proceeds were an undisclosed amount of US currency, an electronic device and a white pocketbook.
A thorough investigation was conducted with the Freeport Police Department and Tony Ogarro, 61, of 1302 Redfern Avenue was arrested.
Defendant Ogarro is charged with four (4) counts of Robbery 1st Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at First District Court, Hempstead.
