The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 7:53 a.m. in Woodmere.
According to Detectives, a 39-year-old male was operating a 2023 Tesla on University Street when he made a left turn onto Branch Boulevard and collided with a 2019 Honda Accord being operated by 24-year-old male. Both operators were transported to a local area hospital for treatment and evaluation. The 39-year-old male operator is currently listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.

The above listed victim has succumbed to his injuries and has been pronounced deceased by a hospital physician. The victim has been identified as Michael Kreindler, 39, of Valley Stream.

The operator of the Honda Accord, defendant Brayan Romero Flores, 24, of 451 Court Avenue, Cedarhurst was arrested for the above incident. He is being charged with Manslaughter 2nd, Criminally Negligent Homicide, Assault 2nd and Reckless Driving. He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
