The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Freeport man during a Quality-of-Life Initiative that was conducted on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 7:25 pm in Uniondale.
According to Police, First Precinct Officers responded G&G Deli and Grocery located at 524 Jerusalem Avenue to conduct a licensed premise inspection. During the investigation, officers discovered a hidden room accessible by remote magnetic latch. It was determined the room contained six (6) electronic gambling machines which were seized and a total of $6,096 in US currency was recover.
Jose Amaya Barquero, 51, of 246 N. Long Beach Avenue, was issued Appearance Tickets under New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Law and Town of Hempstead Ordinance. The tickets returnable to First District Court on 04/06/2026.
