The Arson Bomb Squad reports the arrest of an undomiciled man for an incident that occurred on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:30 AM in Uniondale.
According to detectives, patrol officers came across a fire in a vacant building located at 899 Jerusalem Avenue. The Uniondale Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire. The Defendant Jose Rubi Alvarado, 29, was located inside the building. Subsequent to an investigation, the defendant was found to be responsible for starting the fire that damaged the building. He was transported to an area hospital for a medical evaluation.
Defendant Jose Rubi Alvarado is charged with Arson 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
