The First Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Criminal Possession of a Firearm that occurred on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 9:30 AM in North Merrick.
According to Detectives, officers responded to Elsie Avenue in the vicinity of Meadowbrook Road for a person impeding the flow of traffic. Upon arrival, officers located the Defendant Naggie Ford, 21, of 62 Powell Street acting irrational and removed him from the roadway. Upon further investigation the defendant was found to be possession of a loaded silver firearm and was placed under arrest without incident. The defendant was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Defendant Naggie Ford is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
