The Second Squad reports the arrest of two men for an Attempted Grand Larceny that occurred on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2:45 a.m. in Hicksville.
According to Detectives, Second Precinct Officers responded to Mack Avenue for the report of a Larceny in progress. Upon arrival, Officers witnessed a 2020 Honda resting on a carjack and two men attempting to remove the tires. After a brief foot pursuit, defendant, Starling Flores, 19, of 294 North Main Street, Freeport, was arrested without further incident. Canvassing officers located the second subject who was arrested without incident and identified as Christopher Vinson, 18, of 819 North Jefferson Avenue, Lindenhurst.
Both defendants are charged with Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, Unauthorized use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree, Auto Stripping 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools and Attempted Auto Striping 3rd Degree. They were both released on Desk Appearance Tickets, returnable to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
