The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for an Assault that occurred on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10:45 PM in Hicksville.
According to Detectives, officers responded to a Harding Avenue residence for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a verbal argument occurred between the Defendant Geovanny Lucero Vidal, 21, and a female victim, 27. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which the defendant struck and bit the victim in the face multiple times before forcibly grabbing her around the neck and applying pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe. The victim was able to contact a family member who in turn called police on her behalf. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she is currently listed in critical but stable condition. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident. Further investigation revealed the defendant was in violation of a valid Order of Protection.
Defendant Geovanny Lucero Vidal is charged with Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing 2nd Degree and Aggravated Criminal Contempt. He was arraigned on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
