Homicide Squad Detectives report the details of a fatal Vehicular Accident involving a motorcycle that occurred on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 12:49 pm in North Hills.
According to detectives, a 51-year-old male operating a 2025 Kia Sportage, traveling eastbound on the South Service Road was involved in a collision with a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by a 63-year-old male with a 58-year-old female passenger, also traveling eastbound.
As a result of the collision, all three individuals were transported to a nearby hospital. The 51-year-old male operator of the Kia Sportage and the 63-year-old male operator of the motorcycle sustained minor injuries. The 58-year-old female passenger suffered severe trauma and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026 Defendant, Nicholas Varrino, 52, of 21 Brewster Street, Glen Cove was arrested for the above Fatal Vehicular Accident. The Defendant is charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Manslaughter 2nd Degree, two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Vehicular Assault 1st Degree, Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree, Reckless Driving, two counts of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Driving While Ability Impaired Combination of Drugs and Alcohol. He was arraigned on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at County Court, Mineola.
