The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of an undomiciled man for a Burglary that occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 9:35 a.m. in Franklin Square.
According to Detectives, Fifth Precinct Officers responded to a Burglary in progress at a Jefferson Street residence. Upon arrival, officers located the defendant, Suhaib Ayman Al Rifai, 32, sitting inside of the home and he was arrested without incident. The 60-year-old female victims bedroom window was shattered and there was additional miscellaneous damage throughout the home.
On Sunday, October 4, 2026 while waiting to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead, the defendant became combative and headbutted a Nassau County Sheriffs Officer causing pain and physical injury. The defendant was transferred to the third precinct to be processed for the additional charges.
Defendant Al Rifai is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and Assault 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, October 5, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street.
