The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of two Florida men for an incident that occurred on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 7:53 PM in Elmont.
According to detectives, officers responded to Locustwood Boulevard and 106th Avenue for reports of shots fired. Subsequent to an investigation at the scene, it was determined that two males fired handguns towards a vehicle at the location and fled from the scene. There were no injuries reported.
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after a thorough investigation, Defendants Jordan Johnson, 18, of 403 4th Way, West Palm Beach and Audubree Steele, 18, of 706 Executive Center Drive, West Palm Beach were located in Elmont and placed under arrest for the above incident. Defendant Audubree Steele was in possession of a Smith & Wesson handgun at the time of arrest.
Defendant Audubree Steele is charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree and Attempted Assault 1st Degree.
Defendant Jordan Johnson is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree and Attempted Assault 1st Degree.
They will be arraigned on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
