The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 8:39 PM in East Meadow.
According to detectives, a 70-year-old male was crossing Hempstead Turnpike in the vicinity of Franklin Avenue when he was struck by a 2014 Toyota Camry being operated by a 70-year-old female eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced by a hospital physician. The driver of the vehicle remained at scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
