The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Queens woman for an incident that occurred on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 8:58 PM in Valley Stream.

According to police, officers responded to the parking lot of Walmart located at 77 Green Acres Road for a report of children being left unattended in a vehicle. After an investigation at scene, it was determined that Defendant Karlesca Quintero Solorzano, 31, of Flushing, left her two children alone in a vehicle and went inside the Walmart. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident. The victims, an 8 year old boy and a 3 year old girl, were unharmed and released to a family member.

Defendant Karlesca Quintero Solorzano is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She will be arraigned on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
