The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Westbury man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 9:27 PM in New Cassel.
According to detectives, officers conducted an investigation on a 2025 GMC van on Park Avenue in the vicinity of Hopper Street. The driver, Defendant Jose Henrriquez Guillen, 44, of 84 Lexington Avenue, attempted to conceal a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, refused to exit the vehicle and fled from the scene in his vehicle. The vehicle was later stopped and when officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest, he resisted, resulting in two officers sustaining injuries. Both officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Defendant Jose Henrriquez Guillen is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, two counts of Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, two counts of Reckless Driving, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
