The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal House Fire that occurred on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 7:48 a.m. in New Cassel.
According to Detectives, Third Precinct Officers responded to a residential fire on Arlington Street. Upon arrival, Officers observed the house to be fully engulfed in flames. The Westbury Fire Department with the assistance of several neighboring Fire Departments responded and extinguished the flames. A 74-year-old male victim was discovered inside the residence and pronounced at scene. The Homicide Squad, Arson Bomb Squad and Nassau County Fire Marshal all responded to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
