The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 8:10 pm in Freeport.
According to Detectives, a 66-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Merrick Road where he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound. The victim sustained serious physical injuries and was transported to a local area hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.

The above listed victim has succumbed to his injuries and pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Narciso Guerra Lopez, 66, of Freeport.
The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of an undomiciled man, Michael Bonner, 40, for the above incident. Defendant Bonner is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in Death and Tampering with Physical Evidence 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
