The Public Information Office reports the details of a Vehicular Accident that occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 12:05 pm in Syosset.
According to Police, a 28-year-old male was operating a 2006 Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on Berry Hill Road in the vicinity of Schoolhouse Lane when he accidentally veered into the southbound lane, sideswiping a box truck. During the collision, the box truck overturned, resulting in a fuel spill. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU), Motor Carrier and the Syosset Fire Department responded. The operator of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.
