The Third Squad reports the arrest of multiple people for a disorderly car meetup that occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10:00 PM in Uniondale.

According to Detectives, Third Precinct Officers responded to Mitchel Field, located at 1 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard for reports of an unpermitted car meetup. Upon arrival, Officers observed approximately 150 vehicles gathered in the area. Due to the large scale of the meetup, multiple Police units responded including the Bureau of Special Operations (BSO), Strategic Response Team (SRT), Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT), Canine Unit (K9), Aviation and the Hempstead Police Department. Officers conducted Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) stops that resulted in a total of 22 vehicles impounded and approximately 100 VTL summons issued.

BSO Officers that had responded to the area observed a 2010 Volkswagen occupied by five people that committed multiple VTL violations. Officers activated their emergency lights/sirens and conducted a VTL stop near the intersection of Charles Lindbergh Boulevard and Earle Ovington Boulevard. An investigation resulted in the recovery of an illegal loaded tan .22LR caliber 1911 German Sport Gun from inside the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, defendant Maleyna Galeano, 18 of 289 Feller Drive, Central Islip and the four passengers, defendants Nya Reeves, 20 of 14 Coventry Lane, Central Islip, Joshlynn Almonte, 18 of 107 Gibbs Road, Central Islip and two male juveniles, ages 17 and 16, were placed under arrest without further incident and their vehicle was impounded.
